LG, tablet con Android entro il 2010

Il neonato mercato dei tablet continua inesorabilmente a tenere banco, ed anche il colosso LG Electronics a quanto pare offrirà entro la fine dell’anno un tablet basato su OS Android e con diversi punti di contatto con un famoso rivale…

L’annuncio ufficiale è infatti arrivato dalla stessa azienda coreana, che ha confermato l’intenzione di proporre sul mercato un nuovo dispositivo tablet basato sul famoso sistema operativo Google Android, con la chiara intenzione di ritagliarsi una importante fetta di mercato nel mondo degli ultra portatili.

Ancora sconosciute le specifiche tecniche di questo dispositivo che, però, potrebbe avere diversi punti di contatto con il ‘re dei tablet’, quell’Apple iPad che tanto successo sta riscuotendo in questi giorni ed in particolare la possibile integrazione del medesimo display da 9.7 pollici con tecnologia IPS del tablet della casa di Cupertino, oltre alla possibile adozione di CPU ARM a basso consumo.

Una novità che potrebbe sicuramente rivelarsi interessante nel rapporto prezzo/prestazioni, vista la recente tradizione di LG Electronics!

Of the one-third that is the PC, the vast majority of that is not consumer. I’m just level-setting what Dell is today, because I think a lot of people look at Dell and they go, Oh, Dell is a consumer PC company. That’s not really at all what Dell is today. Certainly we want to grow our consumer biusness and we want to grow it profitably.Last quarter we had a modest profit in consumer. It looks like we’ll be well-positioned to have a similar kind of modest profit this year. We’re investing a lot in our products. But is the fundamental epicenter of the company going to change from enterprise solutions, services, data centers, storage, virtualization, security? No. But we want to participate in many markets. Consumer is one of them.
